As a very young musician, one of the fist things I loved doing was playing whatever came to me. It could start with a sound, an emotion, an event, or anything for that matter. It was my way of reaching out an touching something that could not be seen, but could be felt. The experience had a presence and a mind of its own. I still love doing this on a regular basis. I also love to play a variety of instruments. I play a number of instruments, but piano, guitar, and resonator guitar, and harmonica are my favorites. I studied classical piano at James Madison University, and minored in voice. Those were great learning times for me. I have since played in bands that were very popular regionally. I have played shows with world famous artist like Alan Jackson, The Kentucky Headhunters, and Marty Stewart, but my favorite thing to do is to get together with a few friends and make music. Music is a gift best shared with others. It is a language that everyone understands no matter their background, culture, or ethnicity. A beautiful piece of music is a beautiful piece of music in any language and can cut through all language barriers.
